What you need:
- Old Toothbrush (Soft)
- Stiff Brush
- Sponge
- Sink or Bucket
- Mild Soap
- Baking Soda OR Vinegar
The Outsoles:
- Start with a completely dry surface.
- Use the stiff brush to free any caked dirt and debris.
- Wet the soles and continue brushing until crevices are clean.
The Uppers:
- Remove the laces and soak in warm water and mild soap OR run through a wash cycle in a mesh bag.
- Remove the insoles and any inserts.
- Using the old toothbrush gently dry brush to remove dirt and dust.
- Follow with a wet brush or sponge using soap and water.
- Rinse with clean water.
The Insoles:
- Using the sponge, scrub your insoles with soap and water, a baking soda paste, or vinegar and water. Depending on the condition of your insoles you may require any or all of these.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Air dry.
Dry Em’ Out:
- Stuff your shoes with paper towels, newspaper, or cloth towels.
- Place shoes outside or somewhere warm with low humidity.
- Use a fan if needed to get back on the trail sooner.
